Extendicare Health Services is seeking the experience, knowledge and skills of a dedicated Social Worker/Recreational Therapist for a position to provide support service to the health centers throughout Michigan and Indiana in Quality Life Services (Social Work/Life Enrichment).

 

This position will provide guidance and direction for survey compliance follow up, program and documentation monitoring, and comprehensive evaluations of facility processes related to Quality Life Services and report to the Area Director of Quality Life Services.

 

Preferred Requirements: Bachelors of Social Work or Certified Recreational Therapist; 5 years in skilled nursing/rehabilitative care centers as a Social Worker or Recreational Therapist with solid understanding of State and Federal Regulations; Excellence in organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to provide positive direction and guidance to facility staff; Computer literacy; and Ability to travel throughout Michigan and Indiana.

Borgess Gardens is an Eden Alternative certified facility which means the new facility is a natural, vibrant living environment for resident’s patients and staff. The features of Borgess Gardens are designed to foster relationship-centered care and communities instead of the traditional model of care.  Borgess Gardens is currently seeking a Nursing Home Administrator. This leadership position will focus on creating optimum health and welfare conditions for the residents and employees of Borgess Gardens. The Administrator will oversee daily operations of the facility to ensure the resident’s needs are met in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. The administrator is accountable for budget, associate relations, physician operating procedures and outcomes which demonstrate a high level of quality and safety.  

 

Position Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in business, health administration or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

·        Current State of Michigan nursing home administrator license required.

·        Thorough level of knowledge and leadership experience in geriatric health care, governmental licensure regulations and all Medicaid/Medicare procedures and the management of health care facilities.

·        Familiarity with organization, functions, policies and procedures of nursing homes as they relate to management.
