How to Use the Guide
|
Here's how to use the guide:
-
This publication is a useful first step in your search for a Michigan long-term care provider that meets your needs or those of a loved one.
We encourage you to first read through the consumer information section of the Guide. Here you will find information about the various types of long-term care options available in Michigan, tips for selecting a provider, and long-term care financing information.
Next, review the listing of facilities arranged alphabetically by county. Begin your search in the counties nearest where you wish to find care. The specific listing for each provider includes a variety of information, including basic facility information (i.e. address, phone, etc.), family satisfaction and regulatory citations and descriptions of the kinds of services provided.
We urge consumers to use this guide as a first step to making a selection - not a final step. It is a good idea to select several facilities to further explore before making your final choice. All facilities are different, just like all people are different. The only way to be sure you are selecting the right facility is to visit, talk to staff and to rely on your observations about the care.
