The Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) has an opening for a Director of Education and Partnerships. HCAM is the premier professional association representing skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Applicants must have significant experience planning and facilitating large statewide member/vendor events, knowledge of the continuing education accreditation processes and tested experience in superior member services.

Essential/Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates planning, logistics and evaluation for educational programming.
  • Responsible for developing budgetary goals for multiple single day and multi-day educational events throughout Michigan.
  • Writes, edits and directs the distribution of reports, proposals, publications, advertising and promotional materials related to HCAM educational programming.
  • Manages the association’s process for continuing education accreditation.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • College degree required, focus on hospitality management preferred.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, In Design and/or Publisher Software.
  • Some travel required, occasionally overnight and out of state.

Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center is a five star facility providing short term rehabilitation or long term care. The Administrator is responsible for providing leadership, staff development, budgeting, survey readiness, and management of key services in accordance with all regulations that govern long-term care. To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration, or other health care related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. 5+ years of management experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.

  3. Current Michigan NHA License.

  4. Knowledge of reimbursement regulations as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to the long-term care industry.

  5. Outstanding written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and all facility personnel.

  6. Strong leadership skills.

  7. Analytical and critical thinking skills, with proven ability to make sound business decisions.

  8. Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records.

Mackinac Straits Health System is searching for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as our MDS Coordinator. This position would coordinate all MDS Assessments and Care Plans for the Evergreen Living Center, a 5 star, 48 bed nursing home. The large majority of our residents are long term (we have a low Medicare/ rehab census). Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate all clinical MDS assessments for all Evergreen residents
• Work with department heads to ensure appropriate sections are being completed timely and accurately
• Create and distribute assessment schedule to appropriate staff
• Coordinates completion, updates, and changes to all resident care plans
• Participate in all resident care plan meetings and document meeting summary in resident medical record
• Work closely with CNA’s to ensure documentation is being completed accurately, educate and assist as needed.
• Serve as a member of the nursing leadership team including participating in on call rotations
• Assist facility with other projects and responsibilities as needed

This position requires a RN license. The position requires flexibility, ability to work independently and meet timelines, strong focus on customer service, and an excellent attendance record. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, good time management skills, and is passionate about serving our elders and being a member of a team.

Prior experience in MDS is required.
