BSC Quarterly Stakeholder Meetings (SNF)

Last week, Bureau of Survey and Certification (BSC) Director Jennifer Belden shared the following message with all skilled nursing facilities:

In July of 2022, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) created the Bureau of Survey and Certification to provide oversight of federal certification regulatory duties for health care-related facilities including long term care. Formerly housed in the Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS), the separation of state and federal duties allows each bureau the capacity to solely focus on improvement, efficiency and collaborative efforts in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

Moving forward in the spirit of collaboration, BSC will establish quarterly virtual LTC stakeholder meetings. The goal of these meetings is to discuss topics that impact both the bureau and our LTC colleagues. Approximately 2 weeks prior to a meeting, BSC will solicit agenda items from all participants. Topics may include best practices, articles, areas of concern and important updates. While these meetings are voluntary, we encourage you to participate and help us cultivate an environment of respect and collaboration.

The first meeting is April 18 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Microsoft Teams. Click here to join the meeting. Meeting ID: 262 445 715 510. Passcode: xJoH5o. Or call in for audio only: 248-509-0316, Phone Conference ID: 706 333 459#
