AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process that evaluates long term care organizations capabilities against nationally recognized standards for excellence, making it one of the most comprehensive and cost-effective performance assessments available to providers.

Level 1: Bronze Award – Commitment to QualityBronze Quality Award copy

The goal of this award level is to provide applicants with the tools and resources they need to achieve performance improvement.

Level 2: Silver Award – Achievement in QualitySilver Quality Award copy

At this level, applicants continue to learn and develop effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes.

Level 3: Gold Award – Excellence in QualityGold Quality Award copy

At this level, applicants must show superior performance in areas of the criteria including leadership, strategic planning, and customer and staff satisfaction.

 

Register for Quality Awards Workshops

HCAM in partnership with other state affiliates, presents a Bronze, Silver and Gold Quality Award virtual workshop series. These workshops will help you better understand how to complete the application from beginning to end with coaching support along the way from our expert trainers.

Facilitated by Cathy Bergland

Cathy Bergland has served at Presbyterian Homes & Services (based on Minnesota) since 1986 in various roles, most recently in the area of Leadership Development. She is also with CB Leadership Group, a consulting and training organization focusing on leadership development, intercultural competence, and performance excellence. Cathy received her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, her MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and is also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has filled adjunct faculty positions with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Health Care Administration) and Bethel University (MBA Program). She is a Qualified Administrator (QA) for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). She also has 15 years of experience with the Baldrige Performance Excellence Criteria.

Cathy currently sits on the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board and also serves the program in roles of Judge, Trainer, and Independent Examiner.
