Meet Representative Christine Morse Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services
State Rep. Christine Morse is serving her second term representing parts of the cities of Portage and Kalamazoo and parts of Oshtemo and Texas townships. A mom of three and a cancer survivor, Rep. Morse is an attorney and former Kalamazoo County commissioner.
She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in political science/pre-law. During her time in Lansing, she interned with then-Lt. Gov. Connie Binsfeld. She continued her education at Wayne State University Law School, graduating in 1998. She has practiced law in both Michigan and California
Rep. Morse is chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, overseeing Michigan’s long-term care Medicaid services budget. HCAM looks forward to working with her to ensure that Medicaid reimbursement for Michigan’s skilled nursing facilities allows for quality care for residents.
