New Resource: Centers of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilitie (SNF)

The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities (COE-NF) provides mental health and substance use training, customized technical assistance and resources to certified Medicare and Medicaid nursing facility staff who care for residents with a variety of behavioral health conditions at absolutely no cost. The COE-NF was founded through collaboration between the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Alliant Health Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) with the intent of offering resources to facilities to enrich knowledge and skills as they relate to behavioral health, mental health and substance abuse disorders. SHARPS Unit Hosting LTC Environmental Cleaning & Disinfection Webinar (SNF/AL)

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Surveillance for Healthcare-Associated & Resistant Pathogens (SHARPS) Unit is hosting a one-hour webinar on Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection in long term care facilities on Wednesday July 19, 2023, from 12 to 1 p.m. The SHARPS team will discuss the role of environmental cleaning and disinfection in preventing the spread of germs. Attendees will gain insight on strategies for effective cleaning and disinfection including product placement, cleaning plans and training resources. There is no cost to attend, however registration space is limited. Individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration will close once maximum capacity is reached.
