AHCA/NCAL President and CEO Mark Parkinson Announces Retirement

American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) President and CEO Mark Parkinson announced that he will retire in January 2025. As the head of our national affiliate for the last 13 years, Mark has been a strong partner on national and state initiatives, especially over the past several years as we navigated the pandemic. Prior to his role at AHCA/NCAL, he served as the 45th Governor of Kansas and as an assisted living facility owner and operator. Many of you have heard Mark speak at HCAM events, and we are so fortune that he agreed to again provide a national update at our annual convention this September. AHCA’s Board of Directors has begun a national search to find the next leader, and Mark has agreed to serve as a consultant. On behalf of everyone at HCAM, we look forward to a productive year working with our national association and wish Mark the best of luck in his upcoming retirement!
