Michigan Supreme Court Confirms Minimum Wage Increase
The Michigan Supreme Court confirmed the future increases to the state’s minimum wage following their initial ruling in August that reinstated a 2018 initiative impacting both minimum wage and paid sick leave.
According to an order issued by the court this week, the state minimum wage will rise to $12.48 an hour on February 21, 2025, to $13.29 in 2026, $14.16 in 2027 and $14.97 in 2028. Thereafter, the minimum wage will rise with inflation.
Beyond this, HCAM continues to work with legislators on modifications to the paid sick leave law that is due to take effect in February 2025. Updates will be provided as the issue progresses. If you have questions, email HCAM’s Rich Farran.
