LTC Data Cooperative

The Long Term Care Data Cooperative is a national effort to collect real-time data from electronic medical record (EMR) vendors and the CDC to assist providers with health care delivery and support academic research about effective treatments. This cooperative, funded by the National Institute on Aging, brings together providers and stakeholders in academia, government, and the private sector to improve the quality of care within post-acute and long term care facilities.

How can providers benefit from joining the LTC Data Cooperative?

  • You will receive reports on the number of residents with a hospitalization visit, schizophrenia diagnoses, and reports on medication use to help better address residents’ needs and avoid adverse events.
  • You may be able to calculate vaccination rates for reporting and monitoring that can reduce burden on your staff.
  • You can engage payers in discussions about quality of care using your own clinical data and national benchmarks not available elsewhere.
