MDDHS Long-Term Care Reimbursement and Audit Update (SNF)

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently shared a number of updates in its January 2025 LTC Newsletter:

• Staffing Changes: Scott Werner’s last day with the Long-Term Care Reimbursement and Audit Division was January 3, 2025. During this transition time, please continue to send your questions to the DARS mailbox ([email protected]).
• Partnership Meeting: Due to the staffing changes, the quarterly partnership meeting will be postponed.
• Cost Report Training: The annual cost report training will be held February 26, 2025, at 9 a.m. A sign up for this training will be sent out later this month.
• Annual Report: Per Public Act 612 of 2018, MDHHS will distribute its annual report by February 28, 2025, to nursing facilities via File Transfer (FTP). In addition, it will be emailed to trade association contacts and published in the Long-Term Care Audit section of the MDHHS website.

Audit Customer Satisfaction Surveys: Audit customer satisfaction surveys will be sent to facility liaisons with the preliminary summary of audit adjustments. This brief survey will provide useful information regarding how MDHHS conducts audits of nursing facilities.
