House, Senate Advance Mobile Alert System for Missing Seniors/Vulnerable Adults
The Michigan House and Senate are each advancing legislation that would use the current wireless emergency alert system to notify the public of a missing senior or vulnerable adult. Under the bills, the Michigan State Police would establish and maintain a missing senior or vulnerable adult medical alert system plan, similar to the amber alerts used for missing children.
- House Bill 4362 was passed by the House earlier this month and is now before the Senate for consideration.
Senate Bill 456 was introduced this summer and is on the agenda for a hearing before the Senate Civil Rights, Judiciary and Public Safety Committee.
