FAQs for New CNA CE Requirements Now Available (SNF)

The Bureau of Community Health Systems (BCHS) has new training requirements for nurse aides which take effect March 23, 2026. An attestation must be provided indicating that at least 12 hours annually (24 hours in the two-year renewal period) of continuing education (CE) or courses have been completed within the two-year renewal period.

BCHS now has a CNA CE FAQs document available, which provides guidance and helpful information to CNAs and employers. CNAs should keep track of their CE hours to provide the attestation to BCHS and CE information during an audit.
