Reminder: COVID Data Audit Due June 24 (SNF)

The annual Skilled Nursing Facility COVID-19 Surveillance Data audit has begun. Similar to previous years, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services is asking all Skilled Nursing Facilities to complete a review of their previously submitted data and attest to their actions following the review.

In addition to weekly validation conducted for logical response data entry errors, the annual review supports a focused review by facilities of data reported in EMResource and NHSN for publicly reported variables. This validation process is vital to ensuring accurate public reporting and support reconciliation of any identified data entry errors.

The 2022 annual data audit will encompass three discrete activities: 1) Review and correction of NHSN Data, 2) Review and correction request of historical EMResource data, and 3) Attestation of audit activity completion.

Audit activities must be complete by June 24, 2022. Facilities that fail to comply with the activities requested to ensure the accuracy of their data will be acknowledged on the public facing MDHHS Coronavirus LTCF Data webpage.
