HCAM Supports Proposal 1

HCAM supports Proposal 1 on the November 8 ballot to improve governmental efficiency, effectiveness and transparency. Proposal 1 would require elected officials serving in state government to file annual reports disclosing their personal finances — including their assets, liabilities, gifts from lobbyists, and more. The proposal would also reform term limits by reducing the maximum time a person may serve in the Legislature from 14 to 12 years, while allowing legislators to serve their entire time in either the Senate or House. Currently, legislators may serve a maximum of three 2-year terms in the House and two 4-year terms in the Senate. Read the complete proposal here.
