Reminder to Report Up-to-Date COVID-19 Vaccinations (SNF)
Reporting your facility’s current COVID-19 vaccination status to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) is important. For NHSN reporting for the September 26, 2022 to December 25, 2022 period, individuals are considered up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines if they meet one of the following conditions:
- Received an UPDATED (bivalent) booster dose, OR
- Received an original booster dose less than 2 months ago or completed their primary series less than 2 months ago.
If you want further clarification, check out this NSHN presentation that includes the definition of up to date (on page 2), examples (pages 3 & 4), and a decision tree (page 10).
If someone has only received the first vaccine in the primary series and more than two months have passed, it is recommended the person complete the primary series before receiving the bivalent booster. You can determine which booster is needed by answering a few questions under “Find Out When You Can Get Your Booster.”
