AFC Administrative Rules Consolidation

HCAM is reviewing a draft of the new Adult Foster Care Facilities (AFC) Administrative Rules to provide feedback to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). The new rules consolidate all AFC license rules into one rule set. Currently, providers follow the specific administrative rules for each sized home, ranging from Family Homes up to Congregate Homes. Going forward, creating one set of consolidated rule enables the department to eliminate redundancy, reducing the rule set from 120 pages and 206 rules to 32 pages and 72 rules. LARA’s goal is to have the process completed and the rules in place by the end of 2024. HCAM will continue to update you as this process continues.
