What you do:

The Director of Nursing (DON) assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. The DON is:

  • Responsible for ensuring proper Policies, Procedures, and Protocols for care are in place to include the entire nursing process (assessment, plan, implementation, and follow up) for use of antibiotics in the care of the residents. The role of the DON includes adequate education and monitoring to ensure the process is implemented, communication, evidence-based standards of practice vs perceptions, and expectations of staff in their respective roles. 
  • Develops, maintains, and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

What you need:

  • Must possess a current Michigan license as a Registered Nurse and have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of professional nursing experience in the long-term care setting is required, and a minimum of three years’ experience in nursing administration or a comparable management position. (Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills.)
  • Knowledge of long-term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management, and census development is required.

Billing Specialist, LTC – Beaumont Commons – Dearborn

Revenue Cycle Operations

This position is located at the Beaumont Commons, Dearborn campus and reports to the Billing Manager.  Working as part of a team, this employee is responsible for all phases of the billing and collection activities for private pay and third-party commercial billing for our Independent and Assisted Living, also our Skilled Nursing Facility.  They post charges, create bills, status open claims, respond to rejection and error reports, posts payments, prepare refunds, post bad debt and adjustment requests.  The employee will participate in site meetings and collaborate with co-workers to gain information needed for billing.  The employee will help residents apply for Medicaid benefits and report necessary information to DHS.  This candidate must demonstrate strong customer service skills, an ability to build relationships and interact with people of various ages. 

This person must have knowledge of insurance regulations, collection practices, be knowledgeable in Microsoft applications, and be able to demonstrate good communication and time management skills.  The employee must be able to work under pressure and without constant supervision. They need the ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and good organizational skills, be self-directed and able to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately. The employee should demonstrate initiative and teamwork.  They must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality in this role.

Health care billing experience required, Skilled Nursing Home billing experience is preferred, prior patient management systems knowledge preferred.  High School Diploma Required, Associates Degree Preferred.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to all Waltonwood communities in the Metro Detroit area.
  • Fill-in as acting Resident Care Manager when a vacancy occurs.
  • Provide training and guidance to onboard new Resident Care Managers at all Waltonwood communities in Michigan.
  • Lead the Resident Care Department by setting a positive example, being visible, involved, accessible, and helping our staff with their professional growth.

  • CPR certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is required. 5+ years of previous experience as a Nurse is required.
  • 5+ years of previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
  • 5+ years as a nurse manager or nurse leader
  • Previous experience working in an assisted living or memory care community is preferred. Able to work weekends and holidays as needed, sharing the Manager on Duty responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Associates in this role are occasionally exposed to hot water, and cleaning chemicals. Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain responsibility for operational leadership. Direct the activities of management, professional, technical and clerical personnel. Organize administrative activities that involve strategic planning, new programs productivity to ensure high quality cost-effective care is provided at Hospital
  • Develop, implement, coordinate and monitor departmental programs, including quality assurance activities. Assure compliance with all State, Federal rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for providing staff and assigned departments development. Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Contribute to the philosophy of Eden Alternative within the organization.
  • Establish and maintain open, professional and positive communication in all aspects of job performances.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred Master’s Degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the health care setting with demonstrated, creative and innovated clinical and business leadership ability required. Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience of progressive management experience Required
