Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
Mackinac Straits Health System, located across the mighty Mackinac Bridge in St. Ignace, is looking for a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to lead our skilled nursing home. The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Evergreen Living Center. This includes ensuring resident care, staff management, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and maintaining the facility’s overall health and safety. They act as a liaison between residents, staff, families, and medical professionals. In essence, the Nursing Home Administrator is a leader and manager who ensures the nursing home provides a safe, quality, and supportive environment for residents, while also maintaining the facility’s financial and operational integrity.
Essential Duties Include (but not limited to):

Supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Mackinac Straits Health System

Hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling staff; ensuring proper supervision and quality of care

Overseeing the delivery of care, ensuring residents receive appropriate medical, nutritional, and therapeutic services

Maintaining the physical environment, ensuring safety and security, and managing equipment and supplies

Ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations related to nursing home operation

Providing leadership and direction to staff; fostering a positive work environment

Managing the day-to-day operations of facility and keep the organization on track for its long-term goals/ mission

Ensuring resident/staff safety concepts are integrated into systems, processes, policies and services

Staying up to date on healthcare laws and regulations

Reviewing/reducing errors and incidents and other factors which contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes

Monitoring and responding to the Incident Reporting system and other risk/safety information sources

Serves as Risk Manager for MSHS and oversees risk management functions for all of MSHS

Leads collaborative efforts to develop and maintain system for constant state of readiness for CMS/ LARA/ regulatory compliance

Participates in on call rotation and works one weekend per month

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications Required:

Registered Nurse (RN)
-
Michigan Nursing Home Administrator license (or be eligible to sit for exam to obtain license)

Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a long-term care environment

Have or be willing to obtain Infection Preventionist Specialized Training certification
-
Knowledgeable of CMS and other regulatory requirements
