Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the President/CEO of The Schroer Group, the Altercare President will serve as chief liaison between the organization and The Schroer Group.
  • Ensure all facilities and programs of the organization are administered in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and philosophy, and with applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards of accrediting and/or licensing bodies and corporate compliance policies.
  • Ensure the continuity and/or development of a sound fiscal management plan. Work with senior management on annual budget process and include them on all strategic and tactical planning activities.
  • Oversee hiring, organizing and development of staff resources to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Support Executive Directors in their roles as Administrates.
  • Develop, implement, review and update long and short range strategic plans to support the organizational growth in harmony with the company mission and philosophy.
  • Report to the Board in the manner and at times established by the Board concerning overall operations and program care and services rendered.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community and the organization and governmental agencies.
  • Represent the organization and ensure the organization has a favorable and effective public image.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Prior executive leadership experience in related field
  • Successful track record of achieving results, setting proper expectations, and having governance in place. He/she will have proven success navigating relationships with boards, residents, and employees.

RN Weekend Supervisor, St. Ignace, Michigan

Some of the responsibilities for this position include (but is not limited to):

  • Serves as the supervisor for Evergreen staff over the weekend
  • Makes daily rounds for our residents
  • Will assist Director of Nursing with Audits and Quality projects
  • Notify physician of any urgent clinical needs that require attention
  • Assist with updating resident care plans and profiles as needed
  • Coordinates all staffing related tasks for the weekend
  • Works with residents and family members to resolve any concerns shared

RN MDS Coordinator, St. Ignace, Michigan

Evergreen Living Center, park of Mackinac Straits Health System, is searching for a Full Time RN MDS Coordinator to join our team.  We are a CMS 5 Star Rated facility, certified as an Eden Alternative community, and our resident population is mainly long term residents (we have a very low Medicare A census).


This position would coordinate all MDS Assessments and Care Plans for our residents, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate all clinical MDS assessments for all Evergreen residents
  • Work with department heads to ensure appropriate sections are being completed timely and accurately
  • Create and distribute assessment schedule to appropriate staff
  • Coordinates completion, updates, and changes to all resident care plans
  • Participate in all resident care plan meetings and document meeting summary in resident medical record
  • Work closely with CNA’s to ensure documentation is being completed accurately, educate and assist as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the nursing leadership team including participating in on call and weekend rotations
  • Assist facility with other projects and responsibilities as needed

This position requires a RN license.  The position requires flexibility, ability to work independently and meet timelines, strong focus on customer service, and an excellent attendance record.  We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, good time management skills, and is passionate about serving our elders and being a member of a team.
