CDC NHSN Reporting Requirement Remains the Same (SNF)
With the recent updates to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for the COVID-19 vaccine administration, providers are inquiring about what to report to the National Health Safety Network (NHSN) for residents and staff. Currently, there are no changes to the definition of up to date for the COVID-19 vaccination for residents and staff. Full reporting instructions, including the current definitions for up to date, are available in the training materials from the CDC.
The NHSN up-to-date definitions don’t change mid-quarter. Therefore, the earliest date for any future changes would be January 1, 2026. Nursing facilities should monitor the CDC Long-Term Care Facility Component Respiratory Pathogens Module site for any future changes.
