Direct Care Wage Reimbursement Update (SNF/AL)
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently shared that, beginning October 1, 2024, the department will no longer process Direct Care Wage (DCW) payment requests for reimbursement periods prior to Fiscal Year 2024 (October 1, 2023). That means that all DCW payment requests for reimbursement periods during Fiscal Year 2023 (October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023) must be submitted by September 30, 2024, to be reimbursed.

You should receive an immediate autoreply and hear back from a payment processor on the status of your request within a week. If you have submitted payment requests for reimbursement periods during FY23 and have not yet been paid, please email the correct provider type as soon as possible to ensure reimbursement prior to the September 30, 2024, cut-off date.
