Earlier this week, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) released a notice to nursing facility providers of a planned review of COVID-19 surveillance data submitted via EMResource for alignment with reporting to NHSN sharing,
In addition to weekly validation conducted for logical response data entry errors, the annual review targets discordant values reported between EMResource and NHSN for publicly reported variables. This validation process is vital to ensuring accurate public reporting and support reconciliation of any identified data entry errors.
The annual data audit will be completed by SNFs in two phases: NHSN Data Review and EMResource Data Review.
