HCAM is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and professional event environment for attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, staff, and guests.
Because HCAM events bring together long-term care and senior living professionals who serve vulnerable populations, we ask all participants to take reasonable precautions to help protect themselves and others.
Before Attending In Person
Please do not attend an HCAM event in person if you are experiencing symptoms of illness, including fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms that may indicate a contagious illness.
Attendees should also avoid attending in person if they have recently tested positive for a contagious illness or have been advised by a health care provider or public health authority to avoid group settings.
If you are registered for an in-person event and are unable to attend due to illness, please contact HCAM as soon as possible to discuss available options, which may include converting to virtual attendance when available.
On-Site Health & Safety Practices
HCAM encourages all participants to use common-sense health and safety practices while attending events, including:
- Washing or sanitizing hands regularly
- Covering coughs and sneezes
- Being respectful of attendees who choose to wear a mask
- Following any posted venue requirements
- Following any applicable federal, state, local, venue, or HCAM health and safety requirements in effect at the time of the event
Hand sanitizer may be available throughout the event space when provided by the venue or event organizers.
Masks and Personal Precautions
Masks are not required unless required by applicable law, public health guidance, the venue, or HCAM event protocols. Attendees are welcome to wear a mask based on personal preference, individual risk level, recent exposure, or concern for others.
HCAM asks all attendees to respect personal health decisions and comfort levels.
Changes to Event Protocols
Health and safety conditions can change. HCAM reserves the right to update event protocols before or during an event based on public health guidance, venue requirements, local conditions, or other relevant factors.
If protocols change after registration, attendees will be notified by email using the address provided during registration.
Assumption of Risk
By attending an HCAM event in person, participants understand that participation in a public gathering may involve some risk of exposure to contagious illness. Attendees voluntarily assume responsibility for their own health and safety decisions while participating in the event.
