Home and Community Based Services Medicaid Access Rule Training

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a training series on the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) provisions of the Medicaid Access Rule. Any members who participate with the MI Choice Waiver program will want to register. CMS will host training sessions on several key provisions of the Access Rule to ensure that all partners fully understand the various HCBS provisions and get an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on implementing the rule.

Dates and tentative topics:

• October 9, 2024; 3-4 p.m. ET: HCBS Measure Set
• December 11, 2024; 3-4 p.m.: Grievance Systems
• February 12, 2025, 3-4 p.m. ET: Timely Access, Waiting Lists, Person Centered Planning Reporting Requirements & Minimum Performance Levels
• March 12, 2025; 3-4 p.m. ET: Website Requirements
• April 9, 2025; 3-4 p.m. ET: HCBS Rate Transparency
• May 14, 2025, 3-4 p.m.; Medicaid Advisory Committee and Beneficiary Advisory Council
• June 11, 2025; 3-4 p.m. ET: Institutional Rule Provisions
