Advancing Legislation on Staffing Agencies (SNF/AL)
The association is undertaking legislative efforts to address the issues that come with the increased usage of staffing agencies in light of the current workforce challenges. Members have indicated the exorbitant prices being charged by staffing agencies – it seems that these costs have increased exponentially throughout the pandemic.
The association is advancing legislation that would place caps on these charges, and create a regulatory framework that includes requirements such as ensuring staff provided by agencies are appropriately licensed/certified. The legislation we hope to have introduced in the coming weeks will initially mirror a statute from the state of Minnesota, the details of which can be found HERE.
The goal is to have legislation addressing the staffing agency issue passed before the end of 2022.
