CMS Updates Visitation FAQs (SNF/AL)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have updated their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document addressing visitation and QSO-20-39-NH Revised 11/12/21. The updated FAQ includes additional clarity to some of the existing questions, including recommendations for conducting visits that reduce the risk of COVID transmission. In addition, several new FAQs have been added covering guidance on managing air flow & ventilation and visitor testing. All additions to the FAQs are italicized in the document.

Members should note that while the FAQ share states may require visitors to be tested prior to entry, as of this time the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) recommends offering rapid antigen testing to visitors, however does not require testing precede entry.
