COVID Data Audit Extension (SNF)

On Monday, June 27, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) sent out the following notice of extension to the Annual COVID-19 Surveillance Data Audit.

All SNFs must complete their annual audit of COVID-19 surveillance data by 5:00 PM EST July 1, 2022.

MDHHS is pleased to acknowledge the 80% of Michigan’s skilled nursing facilities who successfully completed the required 2022 COVID-19 data audit activities. The department further recognizes that NHSN systems issues and recent changes in reporting guidelines, unrelated to the annual audit activities, presented challenges for a number facilities to complete their review and data corrections within the NHSN pathway. Therefore, MDHHS has extended the due date for completion of the 2022 Annual COVID-19 Surveillance Data Audit until 5:00 PM EST July 1, 2022.

An audit compliance status report will be published to www.michighan.gov/coronavirus which will include a listing of those facilities that have successfully completed the 2022 audit of COVID-19 surveillance data, and those who have not.
