Deadline to Make Initial Settlement Request is December 15
Reminder: The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reports that Initial Settlements are only calculated and processed at the request of the provider. Providers who have not yet requested a FY21 or FY22 Initial Settlement may submit a request to [email protected] by this Friday, December 15, 2023.
FY22 Initial Settlements: For providers who previously requested a FY22 initial settlement, the initial settlement calculation(s) and settlement letter(s) are being updated to be paid at 100% of the initial settlement amount due to the provider. Additionally, those who filed for modified initial settlements prior to April 15 should expect to see recalculated adjustments that include the updated VCL. Each provider will receive an updated FY22 initial settlement letter in the coming weeks.
FY21 Initial Settlements: For providers who requested a FY21 initial settlement, the initial settlement calculation(s) and settlement letter(s) are being calculated to be paid at 100% of the initial settlement amount due to the provider. Each provider will receive a FY21 initial settlement letter in the coming weeks.
Once you receive your FY22 and/or FY21 updated settlement letter(s), be sure to review the rates for accuracy. MDHHS will begin processing both the updated FY22 and FY21 initial settlement payments after January 1 when the policy change allowing settlements to be processed at 100% is promulgated. Questions? Please email HCAM’s Michael Batts.
