Expanding Veterans Options for Long Term Care

The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has joined a coalition in advocating for the movement of H.R. 8371, the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act, during this lame duck session. This legislation creates a pilot program for eligible veterans to receive AL care paid for by the VA. The pilot program will give veterans additional options for how and where they can get the long-term care they need. NCAL continues to advocate for this legislation as it moves on to the Senate after it passed in the House of Representatives (Vote: 389-9).
