FRI Guidance Document Available (SNF)

A component of Public Act 187 of 2022, which was enacted to deliver a better survey process in Michigan, included the development and implementation of guidance related to Facility Reported Incidents (FRI). HCAM worked with the Bureau of Survey & Certification (BSC), the Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council (MCMCFC), and LeadingAgeMI to determine how that guidance might be issued and shared with providers. We are pleased to share with you a FRI guidance document that covers the requirements related to reporting allegations of abuse, neglect or other concerns. It includes links to resources and provides examples of issues that members should expect to report as well as examples of issues that do not require reporting. This document will be updated or changed as needed on a quarterly basis. You can find the latest version of the document in the Member Resources section of the HCAM website.
