HCAM Launches Awareness Campaign

HCAM is launching “Project Thelma” as a meaningful way to keep long-term care issues top of mind with legislators.

In the coming weeks, all 148 Michigan legislators will have received either a Thelma plush doll or a cardboard cutout to keep in their offices. Thelma comes along with a message telling legislators that there are 100,000 residents living in Michigan’s skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities. We are also providing a custom list of the nursing facilities and assisted living communities that are in each legislator’s district. So please be aware that legislators are receiving this information.

As our spokesperson, Thelma adds personality and a positive image to our message that strong, viable nursing facilities and assisted living communities are a must-have option for Michigan’s seniors.

Thelma started her journey this week by joining the offices of approximately 25 legislative leaders — with more to come. We’ve got a busy year planned for Thelma. Be sure to watch for her on social media and more.
