Help Recognize Your Staff – Join Us In Celebrating Careers In Aging
The Gerontological Society of America annually recognizes individuals who have chosen a career in long-term care. One way they do this is by hosting Careers in Aging Month in March as a way to highlight staff and help raise awareness about the diverse and fulfilling careers available in caring for the elderly. This year, HCAM is joining the celebration to recognize the many wonderful individuals across Michigan who work in this profession. To do this, we need your help! We are looking to highlight your team members and share their stories about their passion for working in long-term care.
Several providers have already shared with us employees to spotlight. If you haven’t yet done so, please consider spotlighting one or two employees. Any LTC position is eligible including administrators, nurses, CNAs, housekeepers, dining staffers, therapy and activities staff, etc. The process is simple and quick. To participate, send an email telling us about a team member with a history of long-term care work by sharing:
- Their name, job title and length of time in LTC.
- A few sentences about what makes them special and why they love their LTC career.
- A photo or two of them in action, if possible.
Please email HCAM’s Lisa Reibsome before February 27.
Throughout March, HCAM will share their stories in our publications and communications with the Legislature as well as on social media and at our Spring Leadership Conference to celebrate current caregivers and spread the word about the wide-ranging LTC career opportunities available.
