Legislation Introduced to Change Camp Licensing Laws

On January 18, a multiple bill package that creates a stand-alone statute for regulating children and adult camps was introduced in the Michigan Senate. If passed, the bills would remove the licensing of children and adult foster care camps from their existing statutes (PA 116 of 1973 and PA 218 of 1979) and create a new statute titled “The Camp Licensing Act.” The bills were referred to the Senate Committee on Oversight.
