MDDHS Long-Term Care Reimbursement Updates

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently updated providers on a variety of reimbursement-related topics:

FY26 Rates (10/1/2025): Medicaid annual provider reimbursement rates effective for dates of service on or after October 1, 2025, have been calculated. The notices are now available to providers by accessing MILogin and entering the CHAMPS application. The reimbursement rate calculation and notice are in the “Archived Documents” section for each provider under the provider’s National Provider Identification (NPI) number.

Web Based Cost Report – Provider Testing: The department will be transitioning to a web based (online) cost reporting platform. Like CHAMPS and CATS, it will be located within the MiLogin system. The department expects that providers will begin testing in November 2025.

File Transfer Reminder: Please review all notices sent to your facility so you don’t miss important information. If you need to update your File Transfer contacts, please email [email protected]. Also note that it is a provider’s responsibility to notify the department if a person with access to File Transfer leaves your facility.

Quality Assurance Supplement (QAS) Payment Notice: QAS payment notices effective October 30, 2025, are available to view by accessing MILogin and entering the CHAMPS application. Please email the LTC Reimbursement and Rate Setting Section with questions regarding your provider-specific QAS payment notice calculation.

CHAMPS: To assist with provider support issues, please go into CHAMPS provider enrollment and validate the following information: Tax ID, DBA entity name and billing address. Also note that if you need to change your Primary Business Entity Name, this must be done through SIGMA vendor registration, not CHAMPS.
