MDHHS Initial Settlements Update
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently provided updates on initial settlement payments, including the following information:
FY22 Normal Initial Settlements: MDHHS reports that long-term care providers requested 222 “FY22 Normal Initial Settlements.” This fall, MDHHS completed calculations for 187 of those Normal Initial Settlements to be paid at 100% due to the provider based on their filed costs. Settlement letters were sent to these providers and payment is scheduled for January 4, 2024. MDHHS reports that there are billing issues with the remaining 35 requests, and they are actively working to resolve them. For providers who are still rebilling, please remember to notify [email protected] once your rebilling is completed and all claims have cleared. MDHHS will process these settlements as soon as resolution is reached.
FY22 Modified Initial Settlements: Long-term care providers requested 137 “FY22 Modified Initial Settlements.” Over the last month, MDHHS recalculated all FY22 Modified Initial Settlements with the updated VCL and recalculated the settlements to be paid at 100% due to the provider based on their filed costs. MDHHS reports that updated settlement letters were sent to these providers and payment is scheduled for January 4, 2024.
FY21 Initial Settlements: LTC providers requested 262 “FY21 Initial Settlements.” Over the last month, MDHHS completed calculations for 230 settlements to be paid at 100% due to the provider based on their filed costs. Settlement letters were sent to these providers and payment is scheduled for January 4, 2024. MDHHS reports that the remaining 32 requests have issues related to rebilling and are actively being worked on. For providers still rebilling, be sure to notify [email protected] once your rebilling is completed.
