Open Enrollment for HCAM Provider Owned Network MI Health Quality Partners – Deadline to Enroll January 31, 2025

As we’ve reported, earlier this year HCAM in conjunction with the American Health Care Association formed a provider owned network (PON). The Michigan Health Quality Partners (MHQP) network is a joint venture of independent providers, similar to an Independent Physician Association (IPA) where providers come together to enhance quality outcomes and value-based reimbursement (VBR). Provider owned networks create volume for VBR contracting and a platform for consistency across networks. Health plans often prefer larger networks versus single facility contracts.

The benefits of a provider owned network include access to payers and improved revenue, administrative and credentialing services, VBR, claims aid, revenue cycle and payer support and assistance, and contract education and strategy.

MHQP is a business entity organized and owned by a network of more than 150 skilled nursing facility (SNF) HCAM providers consisting of 11 organizations with the goal of driving opportunities for innovation in the delivery of care, Population Health Management, and growing value-based reimbursement. Through the network’s strategy and support initiatives, providers are not weighed down by burdensome administrative tasks.

MHQP leverages the power of its current network to negotiate with payers through aggregating quality metrics developed and measured by its members. MHQP demonstrates real value to payers, improving contract options and positioning.

HCAM recently held a member webinar on the PON. It can be viewed here.
