COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of nursing facility operation both clinically and financially. This program will focus on the financial challenges that the pandemic has placed on facilities. As always, getting paid timely and correctly by Medicare, Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans for the services provided is essential to a nursing facility’s operations. Various billing and eligibility policy changes were created to address the challenges to getting paid throughout the pandemic.

The program will also have a time for reflection on the impact of the pandemic and what the future may hold. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services representatives will present on Medicaid billing, eligibility, LOCD and other topics. The virtual program will also provide updates on Medicare Advantage enrollment, PDPM payment rule FY 22 and Michigan occupancy and pandemic data as tracked by HCAM.
