U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Advances ‘Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to Care Act’
With a bipartisan vote, the U.S. Ways and Means Committee passed a bill last week to block the proposed CMS rule that would impose staffing ratios on skilled nursing facilities. The Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to Care Act (H.R. 7513) is part of AHCA and HCAM advocacy efforts to oppose CMS’ proposed staffing mandate. Member engagement on this issue remains critical. We hope you will consider attending AHCA’s Congressional Briefing event in June and/or hosting a facility tour with Michigan’s Congressional delegation. The HCAM website has details about hosting a legislator at your facility. You may also email Rich Farran for help scheduling a visit.
