Update Coming on COVID Relief Facilities (SNF)

In February 2023, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) issued L 23-13, which extended the COVID Relief (CR) facility designation for existing facilities in good standing through September 30, 2023. At the September 14 NF Touchpoint meeting, MDHHS shared that the department is drafting a communication regarding application requirements for Care and Recovery Centers (CRCs) and COVID-Relief Facilities (CRFs) for the period beginning October 1, 2023. It was suggested that reapplications will not be required and existing facilities will keep their current CR facility designation. Once the update is received, we will forward it to all members. To learn more about current COVID Relief Facility policies, please visit the MDHHS Long Term Care COVID-19 Plan website.
