Increase in Human Parvovirus B19 Activity (SNF/AL)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Health Alert to notify health care providers, public health authorities and the public about the increases in parvovirus B19 activity. People who have a weakened immune system, are pregnant or have certain blood disorders (such as sickle cell disease), should be monitored closely for flu-like symptoms. Providers can also review these steps to take to prevent the spread of parvovirus B19 and other respiratory viruses.
