CMS Delays SNF Validation Process (SNF)

The Skilled Nursing Facility Data Validation Process was set to begin fall 2025 but has been delayed as a result of the federal government shutdown. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) informed providers that the SNF Validation Process will resume mid-January 2026 for providers that are initially selected for the audit. These providers will receive notification letters in their iQIES MDS 3.0 Provider Preview Report folder. They will have 45 days to submit requested medical chart information after they are notified of the audit. Review the CMS Data Validation Process webpage for more information.
