In Michigan, Public Act 368 of 2014 of the Public Health Code (which took effect in 2015) added a one-time requirement that all health care professionals receive one hour of continuing education before license renewal. The continuing education must focus on the following objectives (per Michigan Administrative Code R. 338.604):

  1. Understanding the types and venues of human trafficking in the United States.
  2. Identifying victims of human trafficking in health care settings.
  3. Identifying warning signs of human trafficking in health care settings for adults and minors.
  4. Resources for reporting the suspected victims of human trafficking.

This course meets the requirements for this rule.
