Reminder: Initial Settlement Requests due August 2 (SNF)

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) initial settlement deadline is fast-approaching:

FY23 Initial Settlements: MDHHS will offer FY23 Normal Initial Settlements after the newly updated Variable Cost Limit and updated rates are calculated. With the increased requests for late cost report filings, these Initial Settlements will not be completed until October 2024. MDHHS asks providers to submit all FY23 Normal Initial Settlement requests to [email protected] no later than August 2, 2024. MDHHS will pay these FY23 Normal Initial Settlements at 100% of the determined settlement amount.

FY22 Initial Settlements: MDHHS is also offering a revised FY22 Revised Initial Settlement (updating the filed rate for October 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022) to any provider who submits a Revised FY22 Initial Settlement request. With the increased late cost report filings requests, these Initial Settlements will not be completed until October 2024. MDHHS asks providers to submit Revised FY22 Initial Settlement requests to [email protected] by August 2, 2024. MDHHS will pay the Revised FY22 Initial Settlements at 100% of the determined settlement amount.
