State FY 2026 Budget Includes Fee for Annual Fire Inspections

The Michigan Legislature passed House Bill 4706, now Public Act 22 of 2025, to appropriate state government funding for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which began October 1. Included in the final budget is the implementation of a $5 bed fee for an annual inspection by the Bureau of Fire Services for both Home for the Aged and Adult Foster Care homes with more than 6 residents.
