State Portal to Renew Nursing Facility License is Now Open (SNF)

The 2025-26 state licensing renewal portal for nursing facilities is now open until the end of August. The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) mailed a renewal notice to the correspondence address on file for each nursing facility. Facilities should complete the renewal process through the eLicense portal using a credit card or electronic check to pay the licensing fees. The state asks that you do not mail paper checks to the department.

It takes approximately three weeks for facilities to receive the paper copy of the license in the mail after the state receives payment. Please plan accordingly to ensure that you receive your renewed license before the current license expires. All licenses must be renewed in accordance with Administrative Rule 323.45113. If a license is not renewed on or before the expiration date, the license is officially expired in accordance with MCL 333.20164. That means the license will be null and void on September 1, 2025, and a notice of this will be posted on LARA’s webpage. Questions? Email: [email protected].
