Apply Now for AHCA/NCAL Future Leaders Program
Do you have people in your organization who would make great leaders? If so, please consider nominating them or yourself for AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders program. Each state may nominate one person for this professional training program, which begins in September with a symposium in Washington, D.C. Nominees should be LTC provider owners or operators who are up-and-coming leaders in Michigan. Individuals best suited for the program will have at least three years’ experience in mid- to senior-level management (such as managers, directors, administrators, assistant administrators, vice presidents and senior vice presidents) or at least one year as a C-suite executive or owner. Future Leaders will be expected to:
- Attend a three-day leadership training session based on Stephen Covey’s book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change, which will be held in Washington, D.C. September 16-18.
- Participate in a small team working group and in most or all of the scheduled quarterly conference calls.
- Attend a graduation event at the AHCA/NCAL Annual Convention & Expo, October 11-14, 2026, in Boston.
- Demonstrate an interest in working on LTC issues at the national level, which may include participating on AHCA/NCAL workgroups or committees; and
- Consider active participation in the AHCA/NCAL PAC and promoting it to other members.
AHCA will absorb the costs related to the symposium, including a two-night hotel stay, airfare and a fixed stipend of $100 for miscellaneous travel expenses. Anyone interested in being considered for this opportunity should submit a letter of interest and resume by May 2 to HCAM President and CEO Melissa Samuel. If we receive more than one application, the HCAM Executive Committee will review the applications and make the final determination of who will be submitted to AHCA.
