103rd Michigan Legislature Begins Session Today

The Michigan House of Representatives held their first session of the new legislative term today, January 8. After two years of a Democrat majority, Republicans will have a 58 to 52 seat majority from January 2025 through December 2026. This will bring split control of state government back to Lansing. In the coming weeks, the new Republican leadership will establish committees and identify committee chairs. HCAM looks forward to working with legislators to identify and advance policies that will strengthen the ability of Michigan’s LTC facilities to best serve one of our state’s most vulnerable populations. As the legislative term progresses, you may find our bill tracking document and pertinent issue briefs on the HCAM website under the Advocacy tab.
