Macomb Community College Plans Medication Aide Training Meeting for Providers (SNF)

The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is now approving Medication Aide Training Programs and registering approved CNAs to the medication aide registry. HCAM continues work with LARA and community colleges to implement training programs across the state.

Macomb Community College is in the process of implementing a training program, with plans to host a breakfast meeting for interested providers to discuss the program on September 4 at 7:30 a.m. at the college’s University Center-1. The meeting will address the required curriculum, clinical training at SNFs, recruitment strategies, apprenticeship opportunities and financial resources available for employers to pay for training. If you are interested, RSVP by August 26 to Kim Wojcik or call (586) 226-4807. If you are not able to join in person, let Kim know you would like to attend virtually.

For pertinent information on the medication aide program, visit the LARA website and select the “Regional Training Programs” tab to find currently approved medication aide training programs. Two training programs in Michigan are approved at this time:
