MDHHS Reorganization and Staffing Changes (SNF)

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Long-Term Care Audit and Reimbursement Division has reorganized, splitting into two divisions:

1. The Long-Term Care Reimbursement Division handles cost reports, rate setting, settlements and other reimbursement related topics.
2. The Long-Term Care Audit Division is responsible for auditing LTC facilities.

MDHHS staff update:

• Mark West is the Long-Term Care Reimbursement Division Director. Mark has over 23 years of experience in the nursing facility sector, and over 16 years of experience specific to rate setting, reimbursement and the settlement process. Email Mark with reimbursement questions/concerns.
• Jess Tindall is the Long-Term Care Audit Division Director. Jess is a CPA with more than 14 years of auditing and accounting experience. Email Jess with audit questions/concerns.
• Vern Schrauben is the Long-Term Care Rate Setting and Settlement Section Manager.
