CMS Extends SNF Provider Enrollment Revalidation Deadline to January 1, 2026

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the deadline for the mandatory SNF provider enrollment off-cycle revalidation from August 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026. Skilled nursing facility providers enrolled in Medicare or dually enrolled in Medicare/Medicaid must submit a mandatory off-cycle provider enrollment revalidation by this deadline or risk having their enrollment suspended or revoked. While the extension does not eliminate the reporting requirement, it does allow more time for providers to work through the various data collection and data submission processes. Providers can continue to submit the Form 885A revalidation transactions between now and January 1, 2026. HCAM’s national affiliate — the American Health Care Association (AHCA) — plans to use this five-month delay to continue to advocate for additional reporting burden relief. We will provide further updates as they become available.
