Michigan House Advances Licensure Compact Bills for OP, PT and Nurses

The Michigan House of Representatives is moving several bill packages that would enter Michigan into health care professional licensing compacts to make it easier for therapists and nurses to work in the state. Licensure compacts allow applicable health care professionals to practice in states that are part of the compact without having to obtain a license in each individual state. The House is moving the following bills through the legislative process:

  • House Bills 4101 and 4380 – Enacts the physical therapy licensure compact.
  • House Bills 4103 and 4104 – Enacts the occupational therapy licensure compact.
  • House Bill 4246 – Enacts the nurse licensure compact.

Each bill includes a link where you may find the bill language and track its progress. HCAM supports the bills. They will remove unnecessary barriers for therapists and nurses to practice in our state.
